Baslow Edge With Rachel & Eoin

Portrait Session

I had quite a weekend last weekend.  On Saturday I was shooting a wedding in Sheffield (more on that soon) and then on Sunday, Fi and I were hiking along Baslow Edge in Derbyshire with Rachel & Eoin.  As you might expect from the photographs, Baslow Edge has been featured in many TV Dramas and films and was the perfect, dramatic backdrop for this pre-wedding portrait shoot.

The weather couldn’t have been better. Warm, but not too warm for walking. Especially since this was the first outing for Ayumu, my Mamiya RB67 film camera, which Fiona very helpfully carried round for me (They weigh a ton!!!).  There’s a couple of the polaroids that we took at the end of this post and there’s a few rolls with UK Film Lab at the moment that’ll be appearing on the blog when they are ready.

It was a great day out, not least because Rachel & Eoin are great enjoyers of life who never stop laughing. It was hard picking which images to use in this post as we had so many that reflected the day. From the friendly cattle to Rachel leading the way to the peak, I had a brilliant time photographing them both.  I should also apologise to Fiona for buying the heaviest Medium Format camera ever made.  There’ll be more to come from that soon…
