Helen & Karl’s wedding at Mitton Hall in Lancashire
It had been a while since I’d been over the border into Lancashire when Helen & Karl’s wedding came around. On the whole it hadn’t changed much. It was, however, extremely sunny & hot. I don’t recall Lancashire being like that.
I’d been looking forward to this wedding because I’d never shot at Mitton Hall before and from my recon a few weeks before, I knew it’d be amazing. Once you’ve had a look at the photographs in this post, you should definitely check out their website if you’re a fan of drone footage. There’s enough sweeping drone vistas to keep even the most die hard sweeping drone vista fan happy.
Helen didn’t get ready at Mitton Hall. She got ready down the road at her parents house, with her bridesmaids. While I was photographing the ladies, David, my second photographer, was getting the shots of Karl and his groomsmen getting ready (Playing snooker & testing hip flasks to be more accurate!). It’s at this point that I want to introduce Helen’s wedding car.
A Rolls Royce is a beautiful car.
A Bentley is equally a great car for weddings.
I’ve seen Beaufords & Jags that did a great job.
However, there is only one car that can truly transport a bride in safety and style. One car that you can be 100% sure that, rain or shine, will deliver your bride on time. The king of wedding cars.
The Land Rover 110 Defender.
I love them. I loved this one & I will entertain no further discussion on the matter. +10 bride points to Helen.
After the Church service at St Mary’s, that’s when we headed to Mitton Hall & that’s when the sun really came out in earnest. Luckily, the hall has a fantastic patio, south facing too. A real suntrap. We had a beautiful afternoon in the sun & then when evening came, the first outdoor first dance of the year.
Ceilidh dancing, cigars, conversation and tequila followed.
It’s all in the photographs.

Bookings for 2017/18
I’m pretty much fully booked now for 2017 apart from midweek dates (which I’ll offer discounts on). I have a couple of weekends in November and December, but that’s about it. I am taking bookings for 2018 now though and also 2019 for the uber-organised. If you’d like to find out more, start here
