Hazlewood Castle Wedding
Where do I even start with this one? The blossom? The dresses?
The beginning. I met Janice and Shane towards the end of last year. They live in Singapore, which got me excited as I thought I was going to be travelling. As it happens, I was, but nowhere near as far as I thought. Hazlewood Castle is actually about 7 miles from where I live, just south of Tadcaster. It’s definitely one of my favourite venues & I love to shoot there. You can see the last wedding I shot there, at Christmas, here. Janice & Shane got married there in April which was absolutely perfect for the Cherry blossom and I’ll be making one of those shots my website front page in no time! They are some of my favourite shots so far this year.
Everyone got ready at the castle and that made it a really relaxed morning. While Janice was in the Castle, Shane was getting ready in the servant’s quarters. The more observant may notice that Janice’s dress appears to change through the day. She had four wedding dresses. That’s right. Four. The ceremony was at the castle too, so we didn’t even have that far to travel – there’s no excuse for being late. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a few drinks and then headed in for dinner & speeches. There’s no better way to finish the night off than a disco in the hall here. The views from the castle steps as the sun sets are just fantastic.
I never get tired of shooting at Hazlewood. It’s probably one of the best backdrops around for a wedding. It’s not Singapore, obviously, but it’s a lot closer to get to.
Bookings for 2017/18
To be honest, I’m pretty much full for 2017. I have a couple of weekends in November and December, but that’s about it. I am, however, taking bookings for 2018 now. If you’d like to find out more, start here
