Prewedding Shoot in Roundhay Park, Leeds | Sarah & Thom

Wedding Photographer Sheffield

I met up with Sarah & Thom at Roundhay Park, Leeds at the crack of dawn.  For the morning after a wedding, 8am is the crack of dawn for me, even if mother nature had it as about 3 hours earlier on her schedule.
The reason for the early start is one of the reasons that I always include a Pre-Wedding shoot with every package.  It’s fair to say that Sarah & Thom weren’t too comfortable with the thought of being photographed before the shoot and didn’t want the usual Roundhay crowds watching, which is pretty much what would have happened had we gone later.  The reasons that I like to include the Pre-Wedding shoots are that firstly, it gives the bride and groom to be a chance to get to know me and how I work, as well as giving me chance to see how they are in front of the camera.  I’ve never really been too comfortable with the thought of booking a wedding and then not really seeing the couple again until their wedding day and these shoots are the perfect way to get to know each other a little better.  The second reason is so that, after seeing how I work, they know that there’s nothing to be afraid of and that it’s actually fun.  I always enjoy seeing how people transform from being initially nervous, to being relaxed and looking great and being really natural in front of the camera.

You can see that it took about 10 seconds for Sarah & Thom to relax into their role. By about the third shot they were naturals and were relaxed and enjoying themselves. They even enjoyed the walk around the park.

Looking back at these shots, it’s amazing how much the park has changed in the last two or three weeks since we took these shots too.  At the start of April, the trees were still bare and the woods were very definitely a shade of brown.  All it took was a couple of sunny days and finally, Spring is in the air. Bring on the summer!

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be starting to post some of the weddings from April and they’re definitely worth looking out for, even if I do say so myself.

For now though, here’s the natural, relaxed shots from Sarah & Thom’s Pre-Wedding shoot in Roundhay Park, Leeds.
