Richmond Park, London, With Caroline & Lawrence

York Wedding Photographer

Last week, Fiona & I left the familiar confines of Yorkshire & headed down to London, Richmond Park to be precise.  We were there to shoot the Pre-Wedding portrait of Caroline & Lawrence who are getting married later this year, albeit at this end of the country.  To be honest, I could have probably arranged the Pre-Wedding shoot for a date when they were next in Yorkshire, but it seemed like the perfect excuse for a weekend away in London and a shoot somewhere where I have never been.  How could we pass up an opportunity like this?

Richmond Park was further out of the centre of London than we thought – about 40mins on the tube, but we set off early and by the time that the tube entered the overground leg of the journey, the sun was just coming up over the city and all of the rowers were out on the river.  It was a beautiful, if not a little chilly, Saturday morning.  We got to the park nice and early and scouted round for some good locations, dodging all the joggers and getting some great shots of some swans and parakeets in the process (Not sure where the parakeets came from, but there was plenty of them!).  After a couple of hours enjoying the morning and probably one too many coffees, we met up with Caroline & Lawrence and the rest is in the photographs…

Richmond park is a fantastic place for photographs and the deer there are so tame that they don’t run off when you pose near them.  Towards the end of the shoot, we found a herd relaxing in the woods.  The resulting photo’s look like they were out of a Disney film…
