Wedding Photographer Leeds | Zoe & Ben at the Mustard Pot

gorgeous church

Way back in March, Fiona & I met up with Zoe & Ben on the windy slopes of Cow & Calf Rocks in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, for their Pre-wedding shoot.  It was a great morning and I’d never been to the rocks before, we got some great portraits of the two of them up there, despite it being freezing cold.

Thankfully, by the time we got to May, the weather had warmed up (slightly) and that’s when I headed over to Zoe & Ben’s house in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, to photograph their big day.  The morning preparations were really relaxed with Zoe’s friends and family all making up the team of bridesmaids getting ready with her.  Every room & every mirror in the house was being used.

Meanwhile, Ben and the Ushers had arrived at St Matthews Church a bit early and took advantage of the spare time to get a quick refreshment in. By the time I arrived, they were just heading back up to the church and were ready for the serious business of getting married.  The Sun was shining, the guests were arriving and the church was lovely (and really light inside too – always a bonus).

That pretty much brings us to the reception at The Mustard Pot in Chapel Allerton.  I’d not been to this venue before, but I did do a reconnaissance visit a couple of days before – just so I knew the lay of the land as it were.  The Mustard Pot is a fantastic pub & restaurant that’s won all sorts of awards and been featured on TV a few times too.  It’s hard to believe that it’s in the heart of Leeds as it has a great garden in front that feels like you’re a lot further out of town – absolutely perfect as the weather was now lovely and sunny and the marquee in the garden was full of all sorts of activities.  It’s fair to say that the space hoppers were the most popular, although things did start getting a little competitive as the evening went on. The evening had so many touches to it that really reflected Zoe & Ben’s personalities, from the relaxed Garden Part setting to the fun of the summer games in the garden & the musical theme of the place settings – it was a real pleasure to photograph this wedding – I had a great day.
