One of the joys of being a York Wedding Photographer is shooting in York!!
Heather & Gareth wanted a wedding that was all about family & friends with a bit of a travel theme running through it. They met on a train, when Gareth was a knight in shining armour, and paid for Heather’s coffee and they’ve been together ever since then. They both work in the travel industry and do seem to get all over the place, with Gareth photographing himself next to trains at every opportunity. You might be able to tell from some of the shots that there was a bit of a train theme throughout the day.
Heather made the fantastic decision to have their hair and make up done at the Kuki Spa in York. For any brides getting married in the York area, I can’t recommend this place enough. Heated beds, scented oils, calming Japanese music…it was the perfect way to start a wedding day. For the Photographer, there was an endless stream of coffee – no complaints from me.
While the Ladies finished up their relaxing, Gareth and the gentlemen headed down to the Minster Inn, the home of a family tradition, for a pint and some of what was probably the best Pork Pie ever made.
I’d have loved to stay in there and sample some of the Real Ales, but, I had a wedding to shoot, so off I went back to the Grange Hotel to get some last shots of Heather getting ready before we headed off to St Luke’s Church for the serious stuff – The Service.
Finally, the hard ones walked back to the Grange hotel, it’s fair to say that it wasn’t warm & I had a suit on, Heather & the Bridesmaids must have been freezing. So, on to the photographs…
