I first met Joanne and Owen last year. I travelled up to Newcastle to their home. We talked about their wedding and then went to
Jesmond Dene, a lovely woodland in the middle of Newcastle, to take some photographs. Their wedding seemed so far away at that
point. If you’d like to take a look at those photographs, click here.
That brings us to their wedding day, not in Newcastle, but a Yorkshire Wedding at Crathorne Hall near Yarm. It’s a place close to my
own heart because I grew up in that region and knew the Hall well. I’ve even been a guest at a friends wedding there a few years ago. It
brought back a lot of happy memories for me going back there. I’m sure it’ll also now hold a lot of happy memories for Joanne and Owen
too. Memories of one of the best Bridal Suites that I’ve ever worked in – it was massive and had beautiful morning light coming in
through the windows. Memories of a beautiful service, bridesmaids crying, and the heavens opening to send their own form of
‘liquid celebration’. Memories of some great times recounted in the speeches and being surrounded by family and friends for a
fantastic evening of talking and dancing. It was a brilliant day.
Joanne has the biggest phobia of having her picture taken. When I look back at these pictures, over the story of the whole day, all I
can see is happiness and excitement. It’s what I’ll remember the most about their wedding day.
